Why we got started:
In small town Grand Junction, Colorado, I grew tired of our local newspaper publishing half truths, false stories, and omitting stories that cast our local Republican electeds in a positive light. We created the “fake news” boxes using old discarded political signs. (See, Conservatives are environmentally conscious too!) to show solidarity among Conservatives fighting a war for the truth on a battlefield where the deck is stacked with liberal news outlet after liberal news outlet. The pictured “fake news box” was our first prototype, and we’ve now upgraded to high quality vinyl decals on the sides and front. While the focus has been on the message – not the piece itself, every round of boxes we produce is an improvement on the last. By hanging a fake news box on your mailbox post, fence, or just a pole out by your street, you’re doing your part to put your local media on notice: you expect the truth, and you expect ethics! A newspaper or TV station should report the facts and both sides of the story; they shouldn’t exist to tell us how to think or influence our choices. Online ordering is coming soon!
